Public Works Department

The North Versailles Township Police Department is staffed by 22 Police Officers, eight Public Safety Dispatchers and one Police Records Clerk. The Department is under the direction of Police Chief James Matrazzo.

The Police Department personnel provide law enforcement and protection for the community, as well as investigations and special community related details. The Department is proud of its dedication to Community Policing and has included Community Policing in its Mission Statement.

The Police Department houses a communications center staffed by 4 Full Time and 4 Part Time Communication Specialists for call taking and dispatching all emergency calls for Police related issues. Non-emergency calls can also be received by the dispatch center by dialing 412-823-9354 or 412-823-0394. The Communication Specialists staff the center on a 24/7 basis.

The Police Officers patrol the Township using 12 Police Cruisers and two Motorcycles. The cruisers are equipped with Mobile Data Terminals giving the Police Officers instant access to PENNDOT information such as Drivers License and vehicle status and ownership.

North Versailles Township residents MUST dial 9-1-1 for FIRE and EMS assistance.
